How Close is Joshua Jefferson?

Cyclone Star Talks About His Injury

(Chicago, IL) – In an exclusive conversation, Iowa State Cyclone star Joshua Jefferson talks about his injured ankle. How close is Joshua Jefferson? We’ll let him speak for himself.

He is the one player on the entire roster wearing high top basketball shoes during the Cyclones’ United Center practice time. While we were allowed to watch practice he did little more than shoot some flat-footed shots and talk to teammates and coaches.

Here is our brief, one-on-one conversation with Joshua Jefferson.

Jefferson injured the ankle during the early minutes of the Cyclones’ opening round win over Tennessee State. ISU won easily 108-74. During the tournament’s second round, the Cyclones got past Kentucky by a score of 82-63.

The 6’8 senior is a consensus all-American and does a little bit of everything for the Cyclones. He is the team’s leading rebounder (7.4), second on the team in scoring (16.4) and second in assists (4.8). Against a big and physical Tennessee team, he would be sorely missed.

Jefferson says he’s been talking to God to help him get through this challenging time.

Iowa State (29-7) faces Tennessee (24-11) in Friday’s late game in the Midwest Regional. Tip time is likely to be near 8:30 pm.

Do Good

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
