The Latest on Josh Schertz

Beat Writer Stu Durando Fills Us In

(St. Louis, MO) – Stu Durando is the most prominent beat writer following the Saint Louis University basketball team. So, to find out the latest on Josh Schertz, we turned to him. Schertz has been in every rumor for every open position, but most seriously he’s been linked to the openings at Syracuse and then North Carolina State.

Throughout it all, Schertz has maintained his excitement about the growing SLU program and his happiness with staying in the Gateway City.

Stu spent decades covering multiple St. Louis area sports for the Post-Dispatch and nearly two years ago launched his own endeavor. StuonSlu.substack.com is a paid, subscription-based website covering all sports at SLU, but maintaining a majority of the coverage for men’s basketball.

He’s had numerous conversations with Schertz about the recent journey of inquiries. Stu has the best information in town about Schertz and SLU basketball.

The Billikens are 48-21 during Schertz’s two seasons, including winning 29 games this season. SLU won a first round game in the NCAA Tournament.

Durando takes us through the recent developments.

Barring any more portal defections, the Billikens should have four roster spots available. The latest on Josh Schertz is, he’s staying. His coaching staff will be looking for frontcourt players with size and skill.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
