What’s Next For Loyola?

(St. Louis, MO) – What happens after a Final Four run? For Loyola, it’s the building of a practice facility, a great recruiting class and increased exposure.

According toe VerbalCommits.com the Ramblers have the best recruiting class in the Valley. Sports Information Director Bill Behrns says a practice facility is being built and student retention is at an all-time high.

Loyola’s Behrns says student retention and season ticket sales are tangible results of last year’s run, but the practice facility was in process long before last season’s visit to San Antonio.

Rambler coach Porter Moser isn’t content with one year of major success. Instead he has recruited players to keep Loyola at the top of the Missouri Valley Conference and relevant on the national scene.

Berhns says the class, which includes highly rated freshman Franklin Agunanne and New Mexico transfer Aher Uguak is as balanced as it is unique. The 6’9 Agunanne is from Nigeria while the 6’7 Uguak and Isaiah Bujdoso hail from Canada. The class includes three freshmen (Agunanne, Bujdoso and Cooper Kaifes) and D2 transfer Tate Hall. Agunanne is a Verbal Commits 3.5 star while he garnered  four stars from ESPN.

Berhns says Uguak is going to surprise people.

Schedule Opportunities

Loyola’s full schedule hasn’t been released, but Bill Behrns says there are some high quality opponents on the Ramblers’ calendar. A Sweet Sixteen rematch with Nevada is the centerpiece of the schedule, while the Ramblers also play quality opponents in the inaugural Fort Myers Classic.

Berhns says St. Josephs’ will visit the Gentile Arena and Loyola will have plenty of opportunities to continue to build their national resume. Valley teams have done a great job in the scheduling department too, so MVC race should prove to be highly competitive.

Loyola’s magical season ended in Texas, but Moser and the Ramblers aren’t sitting back and resting on last year’s success. Berhns says LUC is hoping to remain at the top of the MVC race, while cementing their place in the national conversation.
