Voices of the Valley Returns With Full Force – Update # 2

(St. Louis, MO) – When you show up for Arch Madness 2018 you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting some broadcasting or writing hall of famer. The embarrassment of riches among the Valley’s play-by-play men and beat writers is amazing.

So each year during the tournament we host a live webcast called ‘Voices of the Valley’ where we talk to all these hall of famers about the teams they cover, the state of the Valley and what they expect to happen during the weekend.

Dick Luedke

It is a live show from Scottrade Center prior to each day’s activities. These men know more about the Valley than anyone else. They know the players, the coaches, the referees, the administrators, fans and the history, like no one else. This is one of my favorite parts of the weekend.

As a long-time play-by-play guy myself, I am very discriminating when it comes to the men that carry that role and I’m amazed at how good these guys truly are. As an aspiring writer, I marvel at the way these scribes can turn a phrase, display the facts, maintain objectivity and remain in cordial relationships with coaches and players.

Here’s the schedule:

Thursday – March 1 – 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Friday – March 2 – 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday – March 3 – 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Sunday – March 4 – 11:30 a.m. to 12: p.m.

John Rooney

Guests are still lining up, but confirmed guests include Valley TV’s Mitch Holthus, Tom Ackerman and Rich Zvosec; CBS Sports’ Brent Stover; beat writers Dave Reynolds, Paul Oren, Jim Benson; play-by-play men Art Hains, Mike Reis, Walt Ferber, Todd Ickow and Dave Snell. More are being added by the minute!

Just added! Brenden Wiese of KTRS here in St. Louis (they are carrying all the games locally) and Pat Hickey the beat writer for Evansville and Todd Golden, Indiana State’s beat writer. Today (Tuesday), Dick Luedke has confirmed his appearance! More to come!

Stay tuned!
