Intense Schedule Netting Strong Performances

(St. Louis, MO) – Ohio Valley Conference teams played games last Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and there were some playing starring during a busy week. League members are attempting to make up covid-affected games. Players are emerging as team leaders.

K.J. Williams – Murray State Racers

Williams scored 43 points during Murray State’s two games. The Racers split their games with Tennessee State and Belmont and Williams recorded a pair of double-doubles. He grabbed 16 rebounds in each game. The 6’10 junior is the OVC’s ‘Player of the Week‘ and is the league’s third leading rebounder (8.7 per game) and sixth leading scorer (15.1 ppg).

Sidney Wilson – Southern Illinois Edwardsville

SIUE had a busy week. The Cougars won two of three road games and UCONN transfer Sidney Wilson was a big factor. He averaged 18 points during the week, including a career-high 23 point effort. This week’s ‘Newcomer of the Week‘ is Wilson’s second weekly award. Heading into Monday’s action, Wilson was the OVC’s tenth leading scorer (14.2 ppg).

Done like only you can @Frank_Cusumano. So perfect. Respectful. Hopeful. Personal. You've always been the best. @DanRolfes, you are in our prayers still today. Thanks for sharing.

As we said the 'closed' transfer portal keeps growing. Paperwork delays and/or no regard for deadlines. Over 2K in the portal now. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. Just saying before you think your program won't have more players leaving, give it a minute to see

BTW, despite the portal being 'closed' you'll still hear about players entering it because sometimes paperwork is slow AND all they have to do is sue to be able to enter later.

Admittedly I am no recruiting expert, but I'm seeing these reports about which coaches have been crushing the portal. We'll know who did what when we see them play, but no one has been more active than @TSUTigersMBB's @coachpenny1. 6 D1's among the 9 he's signed.
