St. Louis, MO – Dan Muller was a great Illinois State basketball player and the last time the Redbirds won a Missouri Valley Tournament title was when he was posting up at Redbird Arena.
Now he’s the Head Coach and seeking to build a program like the one he left at Vanderbilt. After graduation he joined his former ISU coach Kevin Stallings in the Southeastern Conference. This weekend he returned to St. Louis and the city where he and his teammates had such great success.
I spent a few minutes with Coach Muller this weekend and he told me he loves being back in Normal.
Muller’s Redbirds split their two games in St. Louis this weekend, but still may have some post-season basketball in them. They will await an invitation to one of the ‘three letter tournaments’ in about 8 days.
