Incredible Finish for the Ramblers

(Nashville, TN) – Donte Ingram’s buzzer beating three-point basket has sent to Loyola to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Carrying the Missouri Valley Conference banner and representing mid-major teams, the Ramblers shocked Miami 64-62 as Ingram buried a triple with .3 seconds left. Our friend, and beat writer Todd Golden tweets that MVC teams have won every first round NCAA Tournament game in which they’ve played since 2012.

Head coach Porter Moser says he is blessed to coach his team of incredibly resilient players.

Ingram who struggled with his shot most of the game, made the three-pointer, but says anyone on the floor could have stepped up and made the bucket. Clayton Custer says the Ramblers repeatedly practice end of game situations.

Loyola moves on to the NCAA Tournament’s second round where they will be a massive underdog against Tennessee, but Custer says the Ramblers don’t feel any pressure in this tournament and that they are a dangerous team when they are playing free and easy.

Meanwhile, Moser wants his players to enjoy the journey.

LUC has won 11 straight games. They are 28-5 and take on the second seeded Volunteers (26-8) Saturday.

I couldn’t resist. As long as the NCAA is tweeting it out there, I can share it. What a moment!

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
