Watching Baker & VanVleet

(St. Louis, MO) – Wichita State’s entire back court is being ‘watched’ by the United States Basketball Writers Association. Seniors Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker have both been named to the USBWA’s ‘Oscar Robertson Trophy’ (national player of the year) watch list.

The Shocker guards are two of 33 players on the list. With two players on the watch list, Wichita State trails only Kentucky and Kansas who each have three.

VanVleet has missed most of the Shockers’ first six games and Baker is averaging 18 points per game.
