(St. Louis, MO) – Lyonell Gaines led 11 Morehead State players in scoring as the Eagles defeated Siena 84 to 80 in a College Basketball Invitational win. Gaines scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Morehead picked up their 20th win of the season, and reached the quarterfinals of the CBI.

Joining Gaines in double figures were Xavier Moon (17) and Anthony Elechi (10), but 11 different Eagles scored against the Saints (21-13). Morehead led by one point (44-43) at the half, led by as many as eight points in the second half, and Head Coach Sean Woods’ team picked up their first postseason win since 2011.
MSU is idle until Monday, March 21st, when they play the winner of Wednesday’s game between Duquesne and Omaha. The Eagles’ win gives the OVC three, 20-win teams.
