Loyola – Fort Myers Tip-Off

Editor: The following is part of a press release from loyolaramblers.com.

(Chicago, IL) –  Loyola University Chicago will participate in the inaugural Fort Myers Tip-Off, November 19-21, in Fort Myers, Florida, it was announced today. The early season tournament features the Ramblers, who reached the Final Four a year ago, along with fellow Jesuit rival Boston College, Richmond and Wyoming. Games will be played at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena and be televised live on FS1.

Tournament play opens on November 19 when the Ramblers meet Richmond and Boston College faces Wyoming. Losing teams will compete for third place on November 21, while the winning teams will advance to the championship game that will conclude the tournament later that evening.

Boston College is coming off of a 19-16 season and a National Invitation Tournament berth, while Wyoming posted 20 wins a year ago and Richmond was one of the youngest teams in the country, with 77 percent of its points coming from underclassmen in 2017-18.

Outside of the action in Fort Myers, Loyola will host games versus Niagara and Grambling State at Gentile Arena in November.
