Four New Bradley Coaches

Brian Jones Returns to the Valley

The Bradley Braves sideline will look slight different headed into next season as the Braves have hired four assistant coaches for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The newest coaches join the Braves winning culture under head coach Brian Wardle, who has led the Braves to three straight postseason appearances and are fresh off their highest win total for a singe season since 1984-85. This last season the Braves ended the year ranked first in the country for three point percentage, and top-25 in the country for field goal percentage defense.

Allan Hanson | Prev School – Southern Utah

Allan Hanson has joined the Bradley Braves men’s basketball program as an assistant coach after spending the past four seasons with the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds in the same role. During his time at Southern Utah, the team achieved 69 wins, including two seasons with over 23 victories. The Thunderbirds also made postseason appearances in both the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons, participating in The Basketball Classic and the College Basketball Invitational, respectively.

Before coaching at Southern Utah, Hanson worked as an assistant coach at Western Illinois under Rob Jeter, who was also his college head coach. In 2019, Hanson led Nicolet High School to a WIAA State Championship as head coach. Over three seasons at Nicolet, he compiled a 117–37 record, and his 2019 team was ranked seventh nationally by USA Today. He also played collegiately at UW-Milwaukee from 2004 to 2008, contributing to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 run, while playing under Rob Jeter.

Bobby Suarez | Prev School – Portland

Bobby Suarez has joined the Bradley men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2025–26 season after spending the previous four years with the Portland Pilots. At Portland, he served as an assistant coach from 2021 to 2022 and was promoted to associate head coach for the 2023 to 2025 seasons. During his time there, the Pilots recorded 19 wins in the 2021–22 season, marking the program’s fourth-highest win total since joining Division I in 1958.

Before his tenure at Portland, Suarez spent four years as an assistant coach at Eastern Washington. While with the Eagles, the team won the Big Sky regular-season title in 2020 and the conference tournament championship in 2021.

Suarez began his coaching career at Florida Gulf Coast University from 2009 to 2013, where he was a Director of Operations Intern under head coach Andy Enfield. During this period, the FGCU Eagles made a notable run to the Sweet 16 in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. In addition to his collegiate coaching background, Suarez has international experience, having worked with Team USA in 2017 and the Dominican Republic National Team in 2015, where he supported player development and operational duties.

Brian Jones | Prev School – Eastern Tennessee

Brian Jones is no stranger to the Braves, he is a veteran coach with 27 years of experience, he joined Brooks Savage’s staff at Eastern Tennessee as an assistant coach on May 3, 2023. He previously served as an assistant at Bradley, helping lead the team to a Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and NIT appearance in 2022–23. Before that, Jones spent three seasons at Illinois State, including a stint as interim head coach, and led North Dakota as head coach from 2006 to 2019.

At North Dakota, Jones was named 2017 Big Sky and NABC Coach of the Year, while he coached one College Court Report Mid-Major Player of the Year, four Lou Henson Mid-Major All-Americans, four all-district selections and 12 all-conference honorees.

Jones has also held coaching roles at Iowa, Missouri State, and Nebraska-Omaha, and was part of Missouri State’s 1999 Sweet 16 run and Iowa’s Big Ten Tournament championships in 2001 and 2006. A former player at Northern Iowa, Jones played professionally overseas and holds a master’s degree in athletic administration from Omaha.

DOBO, Kamrein Street | Prev School Western Illinois

Kamrein Street joins the Bradley Braves men’s basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations. He arrives after serving as an assistant coach at Western Illinois from 2022 to 2025, where he helped lead a significant turnaround. During his time there, Western Illinois more than doubled its overall and conference win totals from his first to second season. Before becoming an assistant coach, Street worked at Western Illinois as a Graduate Assistant. In that role, he took on responsibilities typically assigned to the Director of Basketball Operations and also served as an Academic Coordinator.

Prior to his time at Western Illinois, Street was an assistant coach at South Suburban College. As a player, Street competed for four years at Lincoln Christian University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He later completed a master’s degree in Sports Management at Western Illinois.
