Drake To Play in the CIT

(Des Moines, IA) – The Drake University men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). The Bulldogs will host a to be determined opponent Monday, March 12, at 1 p.m. in the Knapp Center. The contest will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.

Monday’s CIT game, dubbed the Lou Henson Classic, will also feature free admission at the Knapp Center as the Des Moines community and Bulldog fans are encouraged to support the Bulldogs in their first postseason appearance since 2012.

The CIT appearance is the third in Drake history as the Bulldogs appeared in the 2012 and 2009 editions of the event, now in its 10th year.

Opponent information will be announced when available.

Editor: Drake’s 16 wins this season is the most since that 2012 CIT team coached by Mark Phelps, which won 18 times. All-conference senior Reed Timmer, Drake’s all-time leading scorer, enters Monday’s game with 1,974 career points.
