ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis senior guard Mike Crawford has been selected to the men’s basketball Academic All-District 6 team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Crawford is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this year.

A Master’s of Accounting candidate at Saint Louis University, Crawford earned a B.S.B.A. in Accounting last summer, accumulating a 3.84 GPA. This is the second year in a row he has received Academic All-District honors. Crawford is a two-time selection on the A-10’s Academic All-Conference team as well.

On the court, Crawford is the Billikens’ active career leading scorer with 849 points during his four-year career. This season, he is among SLU’s leading scorers averaging nearly 10 ppg.

Crawford could become the seventh Academic All-American in SLU men’s basketball history:

John Kilo (1966-67)
Rich Niemann (1967-68)
Gary Lamps (1971-72)
Scott Highmark (1993-94 and 1994-95)
Kevin Lisch (2008-09)
Brian Conklin (2011-12)

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
