Catching up with Marcus Wilson

Part One – Evansville Great Educating Children

(St. Louis, MO) – Marcus Wilson is the fourth leading scorer in Evansville basketball history. His 2,053 points and his basketball heroics make him a legend in Purple Aces’ history. But now he spends his days scouting for basketball players and educating children.

His not-for-profit organization ‘Nurturing Potential International’ helps (mostly) African children get into better schools and provides mentoring opportunities for both basketball-playing and non-basketball playing students.

This intersects with his international scouting work. During ‘Part One’ we spoke mostly about his international outreach to help children obtain great educational opportunities. On the basketball side of what Wilson is doing, he is working as an international scout for the NBA.

His adopted son, John Bol has just been named as a McDonald’s All-American.

During Part Two we will talk more about the Evansville Purple Aces, coach David Ragland and the Missouri Valley Conference.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
