MVC and OVC Players on Mid-Major All-American Team

None Will Be Back Next Season

(St. Louis, MO) – Four Missouri Valley and two Ohio Valley Conference players have been named to the Lou Henson all-American team. These awards go to the top ‘mid-major’ players in college basketball. Drake’s Tucker DeVries, Southern Illinois’ Xavier Johnson and two Indiana State players (Robbie Avila and Isaiah Swope) are on this year’s team.

Morehead State’s Riley Minix and UT Martin’s Jordan Sears are also on the Henson squad.

It is unlikely that any of them will be wearing the same jersey next season. Minix and Johnson graduated. DeVries has transferred to West Virginia to play for his father. Darian DeVries is the new Mountaineer head coach. Avila and Swope entered their names into the portal today and Sears did the same over a week ago.

Also honored is former Missouri State and current San Francisco forward Jonathan Mogbo.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
