Women’s Hoops Expanding Coverage

ValleyHoopsInsidercom Expanding Coverage

(St. Louis, MO) – ValleyHoopsInsider.com is expanding coverage into women’s hoops! After fourteen years of being primarily and men’s basketball website, VHI is expanding its coverage to include women’s basketball.

ValleyHoopsInsider.com Editor Harry Schroeder announced today that Brooke Highmark is joining the VHI team, becoming the lead writer for women’s basketball.

Highmark is played basketball in the MVC. She was part of the 2022-23 Belmont Bruin conference championship squad. She is currently finishing her college degree ant Missouri Baptist University. Highmark is also the daughter of former Saint Louis University basketball star Scott Highmark.

“Brooke’s unique perspective on Valley hoops is a huge asset for our site,” said Schroeder. “She played in the league, knows a number current players personally and she has a deep running passion for journalism.  Brooke is a basketball ‘lifer’.”

This the perfect time for this expanded coverage. While VHI has always desired to cover women’s hoops more significantly, two factors made this the perfect time. The Valley’s decision to move the women’s tournament to St. Louis and Highmark’s availability, made this the perfect season to make this move.

Highmark says she is excited about the opportunity to write about the game she loves.

“I am so excited to join the Valley Hoops Insider team and continue to bring women’s hoops into the spotlight,” said Highmark. “The MVC holds a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunity to combine my passions for sports and journalism to make an impact.”

VHI’s coverage of this year’s media day (October 14) will include both live interviews with men’s players and coaches and Highmark’s follow-up articles concerning the women’s teams.

ValleyHoopsInsider.com will cover the regular season and the women’s side of Arch Madness in a ground-breaking fashion.
