Strategic Scheduling Alliance for Valley’s Women’s Programs

Four Conference Partnership

(St. Louis, MO) – Strategic scheduling is critical for postseason tournament opportunities and Missouri Valley Conference women’s teams are achieving those goals. Valley teams will square off with those of three other mid-major conferences. The Atlantic Ten Conference, American Athletic Conference and the Ivy League will meet during the season’s first week.

This year’s tournament-style event is the first of a two-year agreement between the leagues. The goal is to ‘elevate early-season competition amongst some of the top NCAA Division I women’s basketball conferences‘. Each of the leagues get to designate the teams that participate. Belmont and Murray State will be this year’s MVC participants.

Valley Commissioner Jeff Jackson says the partnership is a great opportunity for MVC student-athletes.

“This partnership reflects the kind of innovation and collaboration that will help drive the next chapter of women’s basketball,” said MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson. “The Missouri Valley Conference, American Conference, Atlantic 10 and Ivy League have come together to create meaningful early-season competition among programs that consistently compete at a high national level.”

While Murray State plays Rice on November 6 and Princeton on November 8, Belmont faces South Florida and Columbia.

Cowboys should fire Schottenheimer right now and leave him in Brazil. If they kick off the normal way, they go to overtime, but instead they drill it out of the end zone on purpose and lose the game. Game management just awful. Good bye Brian.
