Voices of the Valley – Bob Ramsey

SLU Hall of Famer

(St. Louis, MO) – Saint Louis University broadcaster Bob Ramsey has broadcast numerous Missouri Valley Conference tournament games. For 33 years, Bob has been the play-by-play voice of Saint Louis University basketball.

The hall-of-famer took time to talk with us on a wide range of topics in college basketball, the Valley, SLU and some of our mutual friends.

Ramsey typically handles some Arch Madness play-by-play duties. In his role with SLU he will broadcast games involving Missouri Valley teams Valparaiso and Southern Illinois, and Belmont of the Ohio Valley Conference. The St. Louis native hosts sports talk shows for 590-KFNS in the Gateway City.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
