Valley All-Americans

(St. Louis, MO) – Honors keep rolling in for Missouri Valley Conference players. Wednesday, USA Today named MVC Player of the Year, Seth Tuttle and Wichita State guard Ron Baker to their all-American team.

Baker was named to the second team and Tuttle to the third. Both players were members of the MVC’s all-conference team.

Northern Iowa’s Tuttle, was third in the Valley in scoring (15.3) and rebounding (6.8). He led in field goal percentage and was fourth in assists (3.3).

Baker finished fourth in scoring (15.0) and led the MVC with 76 three pointers.

USA Today’s all-American first team included: Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin; Jahlil Okafor, Duke; Jerian Grant, Notre Dame; Willie Cauley-Stein, Kentucky and D’Angelo Russell, Ohio State.

Joining Baker on the second team were Delon Wright, Utah; Karl-Anthony Towns, Kentucky; Malcolm Brogdon, Virginia and Rakeem Christmas, Syracuse.

Included in the third team with Tuttle were Kevin Pangos, Gonzaga; Stanley Johnson, Arizona; Bobby Portis, Arkansas and Buddy Hield, Oklahoma.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry
