ULR is Heading to the UAC

ULR AD – Frank Cuervo Fills Us In

(St. Louis, MO) – ULR is heading to the UAC. After just three years in the Ohio Valley Conference the Little Rock Trojan program is heading to the United Athletic League. UAC is the rebranded name of the Western Athletic Conference. LRTrojans.com says the WAC is rebranding.

“Effective July 1, 2026, the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) will rebrand as the United Athletic Conference (UAC). In a groundbreaking move within intercollegiate athletics, the newly branded UAC will join forces with the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) to create a paradigm-shifting, first-of-its-kind strategic consortium. This innovative alliance enables both conferences to maintain their independent structures and NCAA postseason automatic qualification status, while collaborating to drive operational efficiencies, enhance and diversify revenue streams, develop coordinated scheduling strategies, and share resources to strengthen the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the enterprise.”

We wanted to learn more, so we called Director of Athletics Frank Cuervo. Head to Valley Hoops Insider Podcasts to hear our entire conversation.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
