Payne Headed to NBA

(St. Louis, MO) – Cameron Payne won’t be terrorizing Ohio Valley Conference teams anymore. The OVC’s Player of the Year is heading to the National Basketball Association.

In an emotional press conference where he repeatedly thanked his coach and teammates, the super sophomore announced his decision to enter the NBA’s draft this coming June.

Head to goracers.com and watch the press conference. The electric lefty and his Head Coach Steve Prohm share their obvious affection and respect for one another. The gaping hole in the Racers’ lineup and in the star power in the OVC can be dealt with later.

For now, the OVC’s very best is taking that next step.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
