OVC Buckets on ESPNU & ESPN2

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference announced its slate of Conference games across ESPN platforms for the 2016-17 season on Thursday.

The schedule includes seven total men’s basketball games (four regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) that will appear on one of the networks during the season. Each of the regular season games and the OVC Tournament semifinals will air live on ESPNU.

The OVC Tournament championship game will air on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 4. The tournament will be held at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The schedule also includes a women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, January 5 as defending tournament champion Belmont hosts three-time defending regular season champion UT Martin at 4 p.m. CT on ESPNU. In addition, all seven games of the OVC Women’s Basketball Tournament will once again air on ESPN3 this year.

The package is part of a multi-year agreement with ESPN that was announced in October 2013.

The first live game event telecast on ESPNU, launched on March 4, 2005, was a Southeast Missouri State/Eastern Kentucky OVC Tournament semifinal which followed a live College GameDay telecast from Oklahoma State. The 24-hour college sports television network airs more than 600 live events annually. ESPNU is available nationwide in approximately 73 million households and has long-term carriage agreements with all 10 of the top multichannel TV provider.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
