(Boston, MA) – The 2018-19 Lou Henson Award Watch List was announced this week.

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation’s top mid-major player in Division 1 college basketball.

Lou Henson coached 41 years. When he left the game in 2005 he was sixth all-time in career Division 1 wins with 779. He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.

The 2019 Lou Henson Award will be presented at the College Insider awards event in April at the site of the men’s division 1 national championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Editor: Missouri Valley and Ohio Valley Conference players on the watch list are: Jordan Barnes, Indiana State; Clayton Custer and Cameron Krutwig, Loyola Chicago; Nick Mayo, Eastern Kentucky; Ja Morant, Murray State; Dylan Windler, Belmont and Milik Yarbrough of Illinois State.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
