Editor: The following is part of a press release from luteolsonaward.com.

(Boston, MA) – The 2018-19 Lute Olson Award Watch List was announced on Monday.

The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I player in College Basketball. Incoming freshman and transfers are not eligible for the preseason watch list.

Clayton Custer

Lute Olson won 780 games in 34 seasons, 24 of which were spent at the University of Arizona. During that stretch he led the Wildcats to 11 Pac-10 Conference titles, 23 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, four Final Four appearances and a National Championship in 1997.

The 2019 Lute Olson Award will be presented at the College Insider awards event in April at the site of the men’s division I national championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Editor: Loyola’s Clayton Custer and Murray State’s Ja Morant are part of the 39 member watch list.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
