Abounding buzzer beaters, don’t always lead to victories.

With 14 seconds left, Morehead State’s Drew Thelwell hit two, clutch free throws to give the Eagles’ a three point lead over Southern Indiana. But the Screaming Eagles managed to get off a shot before the horn sounded. Jack Campion didn’t miss his three-point attempt.

Despite Campion’s heroics, USI lost in overtime.

Preventing the Buzzer Beater

Lindenwood was down by sixteen points during their first half against UT Martin. A buzzer beating half-court shot by Skyhawks’ guard Desmond Williams had UTM up 12 at the half. The Lions stormed all the way back to take the lead and led by three points with 24-seconds left. Senior guard Brandon Trimble made two, clutch free throws to extend the lead to five, preventing the opportunity of a buzzer beater tying the game.
