Odum & Early – Olson Nominees

(St. Louis, MO) – Two Missouri Valley Conference players have been nominated to the Lute Olson preseason All-America team. Wichita State’s Cleanthony Early and Indiana State’s Jake Odum are two of 22 players up for the honor that goes to the nation’s top Division 1 players who have played at least two seasons at their current school.

Early and Odum have both been named to every preseason all MVC teams and are both seniors. Former MVC member, Creighton University, to no one’s surprise has a nominee to the team in Doug McDermott. CollegeInsider.com promotes both this and the Lou Henson All-America team which honors the best players from mid-major programs. No other MVC players were named to that team.

Lute Olson coached 34 seasons, including 24 at Arizona where his teams participated in 23 consecutive NCAA Tournaments.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
