MVC/OVC & MBU Players Honored

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed in links provided above and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

Editor: One Ohio Valley Conference and three Missouri Valley Conference players were named to Academic All-District teams. One Missouri Baptist University player was named at the NAIA level.

Dylan Windler – belmontbruins.com

Belmont’s Dylan Windler’s 3.74 GPA in his Accounting program earned him a spot on the District 3 team. Valley players were Southern Illinois’ Marcus Bartley (4.00 – Sports Administration and in his MBA) and Loyola’s Clayton Custer (3.52 in Finance & 3.75 in MBA) were named to the District 5 team.

District 6 finds Drake’s Nick McGlynn on its team. The Bulldog center carries at 3.62 GPA in his Digital Media Production major.

MBU’s Pablo Hernandez is studying Secondary Education and has earned a 3.62 GPA. He is a member of the NAIA’s District 3 team.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry
