Missouri State’s Alize Johnson rung up his third straight double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds as the Bears (6-3) defeated Oral Roberts (2-9) by a score of 86-76. Johnson is one of the top newcomers in the MVC. Paul Lusk’s team hosts the Ohio Valley’s Southeast Missouri on Saturday.

Another outstanding newcomer to the league, Ryan Taylor led Evansville (7-4) to a convincing 85-56 win over Norfolk State (2-9). Taylor connected on six three-pointers on the way to 38 points. He fell one point shy of tying teammate Jaylon Brown for the top scoring performance in the Valley this year. The Purple Aces play at the OVC’s Austin Peay on Saturday.

Armon Fletcher and Sean O’Brien led Southern Illinois to a 70-55 rivalry win over Saint Louis University. Fletcher (Edwardsville High School) recorded a career high 21 points and O’Brien earned his third double-double of the season (13 points and 13 rebounds). SIU (6-5) travels to Las Vegas on Monday for the Valley’s final game of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge, when the Salukis battle the Runnin’ Rebels.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
