How Will Keith Pickens Finish?

(St. Louis, MO) – Keith Pickens was one of the best high school basketball players I ever saw.  No, he wasn’t Bradley Beal or David Lee, but he was top drawer in my book. In 17 years of broadcasting St. Louis area games, he was among the best of the best.

His college career at Missouri State has been littered with injuries and his potential cut short. I’ve written about his journey earlier here on Valley Hoops Insider.

Friday he will begin is final excursion into Arch Madness. Thursday he was a part of the pre-tournament press conference and I thought it fitting to play his and Head Coach Paul Lusk’s comments here. He and they are classy people.

The Bears have have fought the injury bug all season, losing Pickens at times and leading scorer Marcus Marshall for the back half of the season.

I for one and hoping ‘Pick’ has a long run this weekend.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
