Holiday Tournaments

(St. Louis, MO) – Christmas holidays bring great high school basketball tournaments to life and this season was no different.

Coaches Versus Cancer 

Hazelwood Central makes it a habit of winning tournaments at Meramec Community College and did it again. The Hawks (11-1) won their third holiday tournament at Meramec in the last four years. For the second straight year Josh Martin’s team won the newly minted Coaches Versus Cancer event. This time defeating CBC 79-69 in the final.

Dominique Dobbs led the way in the championship game with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Indiana State bound Jordan Barnes led CBC (6-5) with 18 points.

Holiday Staples

MICDS and Normandy high schools host two of the most time honored Christmas season events. Westminster (7-2) defeated perennial championship game participant Francis Howell at MICDS. Chicago Farragut defeated McCluer South-Berkeley in the championship at Viking Hall in Normandy.

Collinsville 

The legendary Collinsville Christmas Tournament did not dissapoint as Althoff (11-1) blew away the field at Virgil Fletcher Gymnasium. The Crusaders average margin of victory was 28 points. Championship game scoring honors went to Jordan Goodwin with 21 points.

St. Dominic

One of the best ‘small schools’ in the state, Sikeston (10-0) defeated highly ranked Fort Zumwalt South (10-2) in the final.
