Harry Has Reached the Summitt

(St. Louis, MO) – Pat Summitt’s record has been tied! McKendree University’s Harry Statham recorded college coaching win 1,098 last night as his Bearcats defeated UW-Parkside 92-85.

The University of Tennessee’s legendary Summitt and Statham share the record for most wins at a four-year institution regardless of classification. Statham is already the winningest men’s coach in college basketball history.

The Great Lakes Valley Conference’s Bearcats (10-8, 3-7) had to knock off the nationally ranked Rangers to thrust Statham into the tie with Summitt.

Next up for Statham’s team is Saturday’s date with Lewis University.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
