From the Valley to the NBA

MVC Players Signing with the Association

(St. Louis, MO) – Current and former players are heading from the Valley to the NBA. Former Missouri Valley Conference players were drafted. Current players were signed to Association contracts and former players inked important deals.

Three Southern Illinois stars will have a chance to earn their way on to NBA rosters. Xavier Johnson, Marcus Domask and Lance Jones all signed with NBA teams. All-conference guard Johnson signed with Dallas. Former Salukis Domask (Chicago) and Jones (Indiana) will have try outs.

Valley to the NBA – Draftees

Two players with Valley roots were drafted in Thursday’s second round. San Francisco forward Jonathan Mogbo (Missouri State) and Kentucky guard Antonio Reeves (Illinois State) received the call from Adam Silver.

Mogbo was the top pick of the second round (31st) and Reeves heard his name called in the forty-seventh spot.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry
