Four Valley Schools In Action

(St. Louis, MO) – A strong Valley showing this weekend has pushed the league’s non-conference record to 24-10. Four Missouri Valley schools tip today.

Bradley (2-1) plays Hofstra (1-2) in the Gulf Coast Showcase. Newcomers Jo Jo McGlaston (13.0) and Darrell Brown (11.0) lead the Braves scoring parade. Fellow first year player Koch Bar (6.3) is their leading rebounder.

Illinois State (1-1) travels to Fort Worth, Texas for a game with undefeated Texas Christian University (3-0). Juniors Deontae Hawkins and MiKyle McIntosh are off to solid starts. In ISU’s first two games Hawkins is averaging a double-double with averages of 19 points and 11 rebounds per game. McIntosh is averaging 15.5 points while grabbing seven rebounds per contest.

Loyola (4-1) is playing in their third game in the Paradise Jam (US Virgin Islands) where they battle the Pac 12’s Washington State. The Huskies (3-1) will face a Ramblers’ squad led by senior Milton Doyle. The preseason all-Valley honoree is leading Porter Moser’s team in scoring (14.8) and assists (6.2) while grabbing 4.8 rebounds per game.

Southern Illinois (2-2) has won two straight and they host Mount St. Mary’s as part of the Golden Gopher Invitational. Mount St. Mary’s (1-3) has dropped games to West Virginia, Iowa State and Minnesota. This is not an easy game for the Salukis.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
