(Des Moines, IA) – The Drake University men’s basketball team will play six home contests as part of its 13-game non-conference schedule under first-year head coach Darian DeVries.

The Bulldogs will also travel to five different states as part of the non-conference schedule and take part in the annual Hy-Vee Classic at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Fans will get their first look at DeVries’ squad with a November 4 exhibition contest against Coe College at the Knapp Center before beginning the season in earnest against Buena Vista, November 8.

The team faces its first road test at Colorado. Last season, the Bulldogs nearly upended the Buffaloes at the Paradise Jam before falling in the final minutes, 86-81.

The Bulldogs play two more home contests in November with a game against Texas State and a date versus Boise State as part of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge. A trip to Kansas City to face UMKC is set for November 21.

December begins in the Twin Cities with a one-of-a-kind experience as the Bulldogs play North Dakota State at the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic December 1.

Drake remains on the road for a game at Milwaukee before returning to Iowa to face Iowa State December 15 at the Hy-Vee Classic.

A pair of home games as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic follows December 17 and 19 when SIU Edwardsville and Rider visit the Knapp Center before the Bulldogs depart for Las Vegas. There, the team faces New Mexico State and either Washington State or San Diego at Orleans Arena.

Following the holiday break, the Bulldogs return to campus to host McKendree in the final non-conference game of the season before beginning Missouri Valley Conference competition.
