Quick Thinking Makes Some Lemonade!

Editor: The following is part of a press release from mvc-sports.com.

(St. Louis, MO) – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed the Drake-Loyola men’s basketball series (Jan. 10-11) from the Drake Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa, and the Drake-Missouri State men’s basketball series (Jan. 17-18) from JQH Arena in Springfield, Mo., due to positive COVID-19 test results among Drake’s Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff.  The Conference will announce make-up dates for the series/games at a later date.

Loyola, however, will now face Indiana State on Jan. 10-11 at Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Ind.  The Sunday, Jan. 10, game will be played at 5:30 p.m. CT and air on ESPN2, while the Monday, Jan. 11, contest will begin at 6:00 p.m. CT and be shown on CBS Sports Network.  Indiana State was originally scheduled to play Southern Illinois this weekend, but positive test results within SIU’s Tier I personnel has forced the postponement of the SIU-ISU series.

Editor: There has been no official announcement about the Valparaiso/SIU series next weekend, but our friend Todd Hefferman has tweeted that an SIU official is hopeful those games will be played.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
