Bradley’s Brian Wardle @ MVC Media Day

Veterans Return with Quality Newcomers

(St. Louis, MO) – Bradley’s Brian Wardle joined Harry Schroeder during the Missouri Valley Conference Media Day. Wardle says veterans Ja’Shon Henry, Rienk Mast, Malevy Leons, Zek Montgomery and Connor Hickman will be the backbone of this year’s roster, but there are very important newcomers.

Wardle says Henry is healthy once again and Hickman, Leons and Mast have made great offseason progress. The successful equation is having veterans return with quality newcomers.

Guards Duke Deen and James ‘Pop’ Weathers bring a veteran presence in the Bradley backcourt. Weathers was one of the top junior college players in the country and Troy transfer Dean was the Freshman of the Year in the Sun Belt Conference.

Here is our interview with Bradley coach Brian Wardle.

I haven't heard, nor do I know, how does this apply to the typical 'foreign' basketball player that is most often over 19?

Obviously, this is a sentimental and not a ‘spreadsheet’ notion, but would hate to see @MVCsports change the #ArchMadness format from the traditional ‘family reunion’ feel by cutting teams from the experience. #FatherHarry

Congrats to @ISURedbirdGolf. T.J. Barger sets a school record. Pietro Pontiggia records the Redbirds' second-ever top 20 finish at a regional. The team finishes tent in the region which is tied for the program's best regional finish! #FatherHarry
