Rally For Rhyan – Friday Night!

(St. Louis, MO) – Rally For Rhyan becomes super local Friday night! We’ll be at Saint John Vianney high school for their annual ‘Paint it Pink’ game, but this year’s cancer awareness night takes on special meaning. We’ll be involved in raising money for pediatric cancer research in the name of Rhyan Loos.

12109264_1018310064885824_604154633335961730_nShe is a five-year-old girl with Stage 4 cancer. She is the daughter of Missouri Assistant basketball coach Brad Loos and the the granddaughter of Austin Peay Head Coach Dave Loos. Search this site and you will find other stories we’ve done with Dave.

Vianney head basketball coach Kevin Walsh has known Brad for several years and when he heard about Rhyan’s condition, he wanted to lend a hand. (Please read our previous story with video of Coach Walsh!) So Friday night, February 19th when the Golden Griffins host Metro Catholic Conference foe De Smet they will be uniting with the Loos family in their fight against pediatric cancer.

Last Saturday the Missouri basketball program had their ‘Rally For Rhyan’ day and raised roughly $50,000! Watch this video of Brad addressing the crowd on Saturday.

We will update this story. We’re working with friends to get the game and festivities streamed live so that you that are out of town can be a part.

Coach Walsh and the Vianney community are to be congratulated on their efforts and as always our prayers are with the Loss family and Rhyan.

I feel bad for the newspaper business. So much on-line competition so ad rates go down. So they charge me to read their content. So I don't. So the ad rates go down. So they fire workers. So their product suffers. So people don't read their content. It's a terrible cycle.

42 assists in the game between @IndStBasketball & Utah. High level offense. 32 wins for the Sycamores. Larry's 8 assists give him 400 for his career. Avila with a double-double (26/10), Conwell with 27 points; Larry & Swope with 15 points. @ValleyHoops proud.
