Ohio Valley

Full Schedule in the OVC

(St. Louis, MO) – Three teams are undefeated and two teams are looking for their first wins as each Ohio Valley Conference team heads into its fourth league game. While none of the undefeated teams play one another, nor will the winless teams, there is plenty of movement that can occur today.

The game of the day is at Belmont. The preseason favorite Bruins (11-5, 3-0) host reigning OVC Tournament champion Jacksonville State (11-5, 2-1). The Gamecocks stubbed their toe on the way to this high level match up with a defeat at Tennessee State on Thursday. (5 pm on OVC DN)

The TSU Tigers (6-8, 1-2) look to build some momentum from their JSU upset when they host Tennessee Tech (10-6, 2-1). (4 pm on OVC DN)

Travel partners Eastern Illinois (5-9, 1-2) and Southern Illinois Edwardsville (5-9, 1-2) each achieved their first league wins on Thursday and are attempting the ‘Kentucky sweep’ when they visit Eastern Kentucky (6-10, 0-3) and Morehead State (4-10, 0-3) respectively. (both games on OVC DN, one at 3 pm & the other at 3:15)

Outstanding freshmen abound in the OVC, and many of them will be involved in the last two games of today’s schedule.

Murray State is looking for its fourth straight league win. The Racers (11-3, 3-0) host UT Martin (6-10, 1-2) and SEMO (7-9, 1-2) visits surprising Austin Peay (8-7, 3-0). Both of those games tip at 7 on the OVC DN.

(see our story ‘Ray of Hope’ at SEMO)

Murray State’s Ja Morant is electrifying Racer fans while APSU’s Terry Taylor and Dayton Gumm are igniting passion among the Governor faithful. SEMO’s Ledarrius Brewer and Justin Carpenter are inspiring hope in Cape Girardeau.

(see our story Who is the OVC’s Next Big Thing?)

For the OVC hoop junkie this is a main-line event.

Do Good
